Amy A. Vaughan, M.D.

Amy A. Vaughan, M.D., is a licensed board-certified dermatologist who has been in private practice since 1996. Dr. Vaughan is a native of West Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from West Virginia University and is a graduate of Marshall University School of Medicine. She completed her Dermatology Residency at the University of Cincinnati Hospital, where she served as chief resident. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons (ASDS) and the West Virginia Dermatologic Society (WVDS) where she served in the past as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President and President.

Dr. Vaughan established Amy Vaughan Dermatology, PLLC, in 2006, in an effort to provide superior skin care and bring the latest technology and techniques in adult and pediatric dermatology to the Tristate region. She is highly regarded as an authority in general and cosmetic dermatology by both patients and fellow dermatologists in the Tristate area with over 20 years of experience.

Dr. Vaughan has achieved a Diamond Level partnership with Allergan, one of the largest pharmaceutical and medical aesthetics companies in the world. Dr. Vaughan is also a Certified Master Injector with Botox and dermal facial fillers with Allergan. In 2017, Amy Vaughan Dermatology was the first practice in the state of West Virginia to be recognized in Allergan’s Top 500 National Accounts. In 2020, Dr. Vaughan broke that record and is now the only practice in the state of West Virginia to be awarded a Top 250 practice with Allergan.

Allergan not only distributes Juvéderm and Botox, but they also supply Natrelle implants, SkinMedica, and the popular eyelash-growing drug Latisse. Dr. Vaughan’s reputation as an expert and her artistry of facial injections has her in popular demand not only in West Virginia but also its surrounding states. Her cosmetic practice expanded into The RETREAT and remains in the top 1% of all providers by volume in the whole United States. Pretty good for Huntington, West Virginia, right?

Needless to say, Dr. Vaughan saw the demand for a medical spa in Huntington and decided to join forces with Dr. Ben Moosavi to create The RETREAT. Dr. Vaughan still owns and operates her general dermatology practice and performs all skin surgeries at Amy Vaughan Dermatology located in Barboursville, West Virginia.

Ben Moosavi, M.D.

Dr. Ben Moosavi established Ultimate Plastic Surgery in 2013 and has earned a growing reputation in our Tristate area as the go-to surgeon for all your plastic and reconstructive surgery needs. He has been voted best in the Tristate by the Herald Dispatch community for eight years in a row for the safe, top-notch care he provides in plastics, aesthetics and reconstructive surgery. His knowledge, respect and compassion for his patients is unmatched in his field—with good reason too.

Dr. Moosavi has a double board certification from both the American Board of Medical Specialties and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He completed one of the most prestigious plastic surgery fellowships in the world at Emory University, after undergoing a rigorous education in general surgery, including the finer points of excellent patient care, at Marshall University.

At Emory, Dr. Moosavi worked closely with Dr. T. Rod Hester and Dr. Foad Nahai, both renowned in the field of aesthetic and plastic surgery. Emory has been a well-known, top-five program in the country for years.

"The ability to interact with world-class surgeons and work hand-in-hand with people who not only write chapters in books but edit the books has really allowed a breadth of training in the reconstructive and aesthetic realm. That experience has helped me provide a "mixture of the same techniques to gain form and function and be able to bring that together more holistically in the practice and allow people the benefits of that," said Dr. Moosavi.

Just after five years of opening Ultimate Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery inside the HIMG Regional Medical Center, Dr. Moosavi saw the demand for a greater vitality and aesthetics center in Huntington. Him and Dr. Amy Vaughan, owner and dermatologist at Amy Vaughan Dermatology, joined forces and created The RETREAT. Dr. Moosavi still operates and offers all surgical procedures through Ultimate Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is currently the medical director of the breast reconstructive program at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

"I'm truly more pushed by their emotional result, meaning happiness, than I am by the physical," Dr. Moosavi said. "If I can educate my patients and bring about a great functional or physical change and get them the results that they want, at the end of the day, they're happy - and a patient being happy makes me happy."

Dr. Moosavi is a native of Oklahoma and currently resides in Barboursville, WV, with his wife and three children.
